résumé anglais
This book focuses on the necessity of building alliances amongst a diversity of feminists in order to bring about social change. By relating stories of the socio-economic problems of women internationally, the authors propose political transformation through the empowerment and leadership of women joining together from a diversity of cultures. Included are perspectives from African-American women, Palestinian women and women from Hong Kong and Peru, in total 24 women writer/activists. The authors stress the necessity of leadership and alliances among women for social change.

Alliances move us from a place within ourselves to a place outside ourselves- from local to international, from one color to many colors, from our individuated selves to a new center that situates what was once the periphery to the core. Lisa Albrecht and Rose M. Brewer, p.148.
