Abstract English
This booklet designed to assist First Nations adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse was presented to the UN Special Rapporteur during the 2003 cross Canada consultation. The contents include: (1) a definition of sexual abuse; (2) an indication of the long-term effects; (3) a historical representation of sexual abuse in First Nations communities; (4) the denial of sexual abuse; (5) the recovery process; (6) available sources of funding; (7) and reporting the abuse to authorities. The booklet ends with encouraging last words, followed by a glossary list.
