English Abstract

This booklet from Immigration Canada takes as its purpose the development of principles to be used in the establishment of national standards regarding immigration. The report outlines the six main issues regarding immigration today, 1) national principles, 2) accountability, 3) refugee obligations and humanitarian commitments, 4) the federal role, 5) settlement services and 6) facts and figures on immigration. Each of these sections include background information, objectives, and questions for consideration. The facts and figures section presents statistical information regarding immigration by categories, by source area, and by province.
