The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with the Upper Grand District School Board to deliver a diversity training program to its educators. The six-session program is designed to have educators and those working for educational institutions explore Equity and Inclusion practices. There is a strong focus on critical race theory and its application within teaching as well as intersectionalilty which examines the complex identities of Canada's diverse student population.

"The Foundation’s trainer, Christopher Mark D’souza, has been an educator for over 21 years and has tremendous knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of diversity initiatives", said Dr. Ayman Al-Yassini, CRRF Executive Director. His most recent training program on behalf of the CRRF was delivered to the Hamilton-Wentworth School Board and completed in late November. Without an exception, participants provided an outstanding review of the sessions. He is the author of two books, his latest being a children's storybook entitled, "Why are all the taxi-drivers...?" which examines the origins of stereotypes and is being used in over a 1,000 schools globally”, Al-Yassini added.

The CRRF’s philosophy in its diversity training programs is to promote the necessary awareness and understanding of diversity and offer a framework for mutual respect and greater harmony within our institutions and the Canadian society at large.
