YCI "Motivational Day" is a day that is intended to inspire students to implement projects of change within their schools and community. This day will not only inspire the attendees, it will connect them with other youth who endeavour to make a difference in their schools.

There will be a speaker talking about life growing up outside Canada, being exposed to the violence of war as a child and the challenges of settling in Canada. The second speaker will talk about the barriers and difficulties of growing up with a disability and show what can be accomplished against such odds.

The participants will also hear of youth driven projects that have been implemented successfully within schools. By providing the youth with the passion and framework to work from, miraculous things can occur.

This event will take place
from 9am to 3pm on Friday October 24, 2008 at
Mount Douglas Secondary School located
3970 Gordon Head Road,
Victoria, BC.
The cost per student is $5 in advance which will cover lunch and snacks for the day. Please make the cheque out to the school which your son/daughter belongs to and return it with this form. If the cost is a barrier to your participation please contact us to discuss the alternatives.

Teachers are encouraged to attend this day with students from their schools as it will assist the youth in developing their projects.
